Ceramic tile is a versatile medium that allows our artist to produce works of art that are beautiful, functional, and durable. All of our tiles are handmade and handpainted. A piece starts its life as a bag of clay and a design plan. Our clay is specially mixed so that the finished tile will not absorb water, making it water and frost proof - ideal for a lifetime of indoor or outdoor display.
Our artist rolls the clay into thin slabs, which she then sculpts, glazes, and cuts into tiles according to the desired design. The tiles are then fired to maturity in the kiln. An in-house artisan crafts the wood backings for the pieces that require them, such as tabletops and wall hanging decorations. He uses only laminated marine plywood for tabletops or other designs that might be used outdoors.
The tiles are then mounted to the backing and grouted together. The result is a beautiful one-of-a-kind work of art ready for shipping. Since all her artwork is handmade from scratch, our artist can custom design pieces of all shapes, sizes, designs, and for many different applications. Some of the applications these tiles have been designed and used for include wall hanging decorations, tabletops, interior wall tiling, countertops, pool decorations, fountain decorations, and murals.
